Unique New York Webinar 19: Cross Border Sales and Current Trends in NYDFS Market Conduct Exams of Life Insurers

LICONY is partnering with our Allied Professional firm member, Hinman Straub P.C., to present a Unique New York Webinar. This webinar will explore the challenges facing life insurers (particularly 49/1 companies) selling individual and group life insurance, annuities, and supplemental accident and health insurance nationally with compliance with various New York laws, regulations, and guidance governing the unauthorized sale of insurance. The webinar will discuss what constitutes doing an insurance business in New York, acts that may implicate aiding and abetting an unauthorized insurer, as well as the mail-order exception and servicing issues. The webinar will also discuss current trends in market conduct examinations, from what issues Department examiners may focus on to how to navigate the examination process.

There will be time at the end for questions. If you would like to submit your questions in advance of the webinar, please email Liz Maxwell.
